The Mars and Pearl Ross Family Website was created to provide a base for continous and regular affordable communication. Here we can update our family tree, share current events and photos, and educate the generations present and future on who`s, who. We are so spread out across America and many of us have yet to even meet each other, but here we can become one and keep in touch and share a unique common interest, as well as expressions of love for each other, because we are family......
                                    A BRIEF HISTORY
Mars Ross and Pearl Newton through the blessing of God were brought together in holy matrimony in 1906. They settled together as husband and wife in Mt.Olive, Arkansas ( a settlement) and their birthplace and soon started a family. They brought into this world eight children, six girls and 2 boys. Pearl was a very fine cook and an exceptional seamstress (she made all of her children`s clothes). The children were educated at the Hopewell School. Mars was a farmer as were most of the men back then, but he was best known for his skills in hunting and shooting. As the children grew and married they settled in towns and cities in Arkansas and across the United States such as Hamburg, AK., Ingalls, AK., Chicago, IL and Houston, TX. and many have continued to follow their deep-rooted Methodist faith, which was an intregal part of the family`s spiritual life and beliefs. Viola, the oldest child and daughter started the Ross Family Picnic which has become a tradition and now is held every two years, along with a family banquet, in a huge Family Reunion Celebration. It is then that we reflect back on our history and remember our love ones who are now gone, but never forgotten.
